This is a great course to get you off on the right footing. Each week we look at different elements from ground work and foot work to directional cues. Through different configurations of hurdles, we further explore our handling techniques and how jumps are used as directional tools. We look at a different piece of equipment each week, helping our dogs to slowly get used to them and working on understanding how they fit within a larger course and honing techniques slowly so they are more reliable when adding speed and competitiveness. This course is best for dogs over 1 year of age or 18 months depending on breed. However, younger dogs can participate and enjoy learning the ground work, and can benefit from practicing remote and directional cues. They can also have fun with some of the equipment, those which do not require the dog to be at height or to extend themselves over hock height.
- To join this class it is important to have a good “wait” and recall and level of obedience. We recommend the training SOS class as a preparatory. If you would like to take part and are not sure whether your dog is ready, please contact Clare on clare@muddymutleys.com reference agility/obedience.
- This agility class is not recommended for reactive dogs. If your dog is reactive, Clare can help you with that. Please book a discovery call to discuss this further.
Please check with your vet that your dog is physically able to partake in this activity before booking. Thank you.
