Teenagers... Our tiny cute little tots, devoted to us, turn into independent beings that just shrug us off as if we never mattered... yeah What-eva.

But just like our children we still love our teenage dogs.  Even if they are frustrating at times they are often funny, fun and always brilliant company.

Between puppy-hood and adulthood, our dogs go thorugh a stage where they are growing up, but are not grown up. The dog is loosing lots of their puppy traits and puppy teeth. Teething can be be painful and irritating. Hormonal changes are taking place which can lead to frustrations and new patterns of behaviour as they start to take more risks in a bid for independence.

They may find it harder to relax and can become more sensitive and emotional and display less ability to control their impulses.

So classes for this age group are built around helping you and your dog maintain that close bond, establishing new rules for jumping, barking, chewing and control around other dogs.  Helping you to understand them, and them to understand what is expected of them whilst supporting them, and making the most of their risk adverse and curious brains.

This 8 week course covers...
  • Teaching a solid Down Stay
  • Creating a solid recall
  • Loose lead Training
  • Emergency ‘stops’.
  • Working on a ' Take it' and ‘Drop’
  • Target Training
..... and much much more...

Allow up to an hour and a half for canine and human socialisation.

I brought my young Doberman to puppy school as I wanted him to be well adapted around other dogs! Not only is he well behaved around other dogs, he quickly learnt a lot of obedience training that has been wonderful!!! I could not thank the Muddy Mutleys team enough, their patience, knowledge and skills are next to none.

Puppy Training is absolutely amazing! Huge thank you to Clare who runs the classes. My very bouncy Cockapoo puppy and I been attending Muddy Mutleys puppy training classes which has enabled him to socialise and become more obedient. I can only say it's been a god-send. My puppy has done brilliantly with the insightful support and guidance Clare and her team has given. Thank you! :-)

Training in an out door environment has been great. Dogs need to be good with everyone and well behaved in a park situation. A great bunch of people and dogs. Our dog now comes back when called. Before It would take hours to get her back.

We got our dog from Battersea in October. Unfortunately we missed the training sessions that started in November. After searching around and asking other dog owners we found Claire of Muddy Mutleys and gave her a call. I had never been to a dog trainer before and thought that they were all like Barbara Woodhouse well I could not be further from the truth. The training is simple (even for me) the other dogs are great and friendly and as for the trainer Claire she is attentive and very observant and shows you how to improve all aspects of your life with your dog. Training days are well presented and very family orientated with Claire encouraging all the family to attend including her own whom regularly join in. You can see improvement in all the dogs at training every week from very young pups to elder rescue dogs like my own. I would recommend Muddymutleys to anyone having problems with their dog without hesitation after my own experience with them.

Dobby thinks Claire is great and so do we..:-) Recommended by our neighbour we needed a dog walker for our rescue dog, but Claire mentioned she did training and we could not be happier. Our dog Dobby has had three homes (we are the fourth) and no training, but since we starting working with Claire the improvement is amazing we took him off lead last week for the first time and he came back!! It's great to see him running in the park and playing with other dogs!Thank you Claire for all you have done for us and Dobby....I recommend you to anyone great service and a great trainer :-)

Puppy Training and walking...amazing, thank you. Flossie, my very bouncy Labrador puppy and I been attending Muddy Mutleys puppy training classes with Claire and using the dog walking service. I can only say it's been a god-send. Flossie has done brilliantly with the insightful support and guidance Claire has provided. Claire is great at listening carefully to any issues you may have and then coming up with individualised plans and pointers for helping train and manage these. We were really struggling with jumping up and generally being overly excitable, pulling on the lead etc. All Claire's advice has paid off and Flossie is a real pleasure to walk now. She doesn't pull, walks happily and calmly off-lead, has a great re-call and doesn't jump up unsuspecting passers-by anymore! which is such an improvement. Flossie also loves her walks with Claire and I think these have also really helped her socialisation with other dogs and consolidated all her training. Big thanks to Claire and Muddy Mutleys x
